GURL, WHERE YAH BEEN? HOW'S MIAMI?

I’m back…. Again!


I honestly wanted to wait til September to write again since a lot has been going on. I had my amazing friends and family visiting me and it was great to have back to back visitors in Miami with me. My first friend guest was my good friend Jasmeen, we’ve been friends since high school and I can’t believe now we are nurses and teachers (talk about a glow up lol). I loved her visit because first of all, she pointed out that I had a doorbell the whole time (never knew that yal). Second, we went everywhere from South Beach, Wynwood, Midtown, etc. I loved it because we also got to eat out, and I got to try new places like my fav at the moment being Pilos Tacos! She actually visited for a few hours in July, but it was nice to have her for more days and time. Oh, and we both also visited Brickell (which is where we had Pilos Tacos; they have two locations). Brickell was and is a bougee and more posh looking Miami and part of Florida in my opinion, which also has great places to eat and nightlife and hotels too.



My second set of friends came during Labor Day weekend. Big shoutouts to my good friends from college: Phoebe & Sophie. This visit was also nice because I also went somewhere new with them which was Fort Lauderdale Beach. I’ve heard such great things about that beach so, I was extremely happy that I went because we all had a blast. In fact, the water is so clear, we saw fish, I may or may not have freaked out and swam back to shore due to the fish at first lol. Anywho, we had ice cream, ate, some of us got piercings (not me, I got cold feet lol). I wish I remembered where I ate in terms of the name. but it was a place on the Fort Lauderdale Beach strip that serves breakfast and lunch and I had their breakfast which was honestly super delicious. Sadly, after that amazing voyage, I had to drop off Phoebe to the airport since she had work duties (gurl if you’re reading this please come back again for a much longer time). Oh, I almost forgot, the day before that, I took them to South Beach which was also super fun since we were just randomly dancing in the street/strip to Doja Cat and it was a great time, I love all my gurls from up North.



Once Phoebe left, Sophie and I continued the festivities. I also took her to Pilos Tacos and we hung out in Wynwood as well. My favorite day with Soph was the art/design destrict in Miami because I never took the time to actually walk and explore it. The destrict was so much fun and they had these swings which..... I mean... who doesn’t love swings! Soph and I then went to a bar near me just to eat honestly (their kitchen closes at 3 am how cool is that!). The final day, I gave Soph a night tour and drove around Bayside Marketplace, Sunny Isles Beach, showed her where I worked, more of Wynwood and Downtown Miami, walked around Southpointe Park, and randomly went in the water at Miami Beach at night (well Soph did, my night vision is horrible lol). Big shoutouts to Soph, I am super thankful for your company during Labor Day weekend.



I have to say a HUGE THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO HAS VISITED ME: especially my FAMILY


After Sophie left, a couple days later, my parents showed up. My family pretty much visit monthly, but this time around, they were only in town for 48 hours. They mainly came to help me switch from my CT license plates to FL plates for my car. They not only helped and guided me in this, but they got me new tires, and got groceries for me. Even though they have their moments where they drive me loca lol, I am so appreciative of them, love you mom & dad.




Oh, and yes, I am still teaching and I have a new set of children for the school year. It’s still fun, but it is different transitioning from teaching in the Summer verses a school year, but I’ll talk more about this in another post… for now…
